Not
simply a powder coated finish.....
.......but
4mm thick PVC sleeving, on to galvanized steel tube.
Stargard
requires minimal maintenance.
Stargard
Applications
Stargard
is a balustrade and handrail system, suitable for internal and
external locations, and in particular, offices, schools, public
buildings, sheltered housing and access for the less able bodied
(dda handrail), in fact, wherever durable performance and low
maintenance is required.
(Stargard
meets the requirements of the Building Regulations Part M 2004
and is therefore, truly, dda compliant).
Stargard
... The Product
The
handrail is tubular, galvanized steel, sleeved afterwards
with 4mm thick pvc and has a finished diameter after sleeving,
of either 42mm or 50mm.
The handrail
is designed to have only one mechanical site joint, per flight
of stair.
The
baluster posts are also tubular, galvanized steel, sleeved
after fabrication with 4mm thick pvc and have a 50mm finished
diameter. (after sleeving)
The
fittings (glass brackets, wall brackets, baluster tops
etc.) are stainless steel bright polished.
Infill
panels are toughened glass (clear, tinted or etched),
powder coated perforated steel, mid rails (pvc sleeved or stainless
steel) or stainless steel wire.
PVC
sleeving standard colours are black, white, yellow, red,
blue, grey, green, silver and bronze. Special colours can be manufactured
but a minimum quantity requirement applies.
Tactile handrail
ends which may also be of a contrasting colour, can easily
be accommodated.
Stargard
is a unique design which combines the strength of steel
tube, with the smooth finish warm touch and long life, of the
pvc sleeving.
This concept
means that, if required, the handrail can be one colour and the
balusters another. The stainless steel fittings separating the
two colours. e.g. blue handrail with grey balusters, white handrail
with black balusters and many other combinations.
The 4mm thick tubular
pvc sleeving (shown at the top of this page) is factory applied
after fabrication of the handrail and balusters. This pvc sleeving
as well as being a smooth colourful finish, will resist knocks
and bumps, will not chip, is "warm to the touch"
and easy to maintain. Because the colour is consistent through
the full 4mm of thickness, it will not require any further work
other than regular cleaning.
