| An
aluminium handrail and balustrade system
with
an "hygienic" handrail coating if required.
"A
much lighter, more open profile "
AL
50 Applications
AL
50 has been specifically
designed to enable the balusters to be placed at wider centres.
(up to 2.0 metres apart.)
Balconies,
viewing areas of many types, as well as staircases, are
therefore suited for AL 50.
When
the "Anti-microbial" powder coating has been applied,
the AL50
hygienic handrail becomes ideal for medical centres,
surgeries, care / retirement homes and other similar applications.
AL
50 ....The Product
The "thick
wall" balusters allow greater spacing between the uprights,
whilst still complying with design loading requirements. This
wide spacing of the balusters helps to reduce the
"metre run" price, and therefore the total
balustrade cost of the project.
The
handrail and balusters are fabricated from aluminium extrusions
which have a smooth surface. This in turn gives a smooth finish
to the powder coating.
The
handrail is available in either 50mm or 44mm diameter,
and,
as with all of our products, the handrail is designed to have
only one mechanical joint per flight of stairs.
The
baluster posts are 50mm outside diameter.
The
brackets are satin polished stainless steel which give
the product a more distinctive appearance.
Infill
panel options are; toughened glass, (either clear, tinted
or acid etched), mid-rails, stainless steel wire, stainless steel
or powder coated perforated sheet.
The
resulting assembly is much cleaner, sharper design.
Finishes
Being aluminium,
AL 50 can be bright or satin polished, or more
appropriately, powder coated. Both internal and external
applications are acceptable, however, a powder coated finish is
essential for external work and is available in almost all RAL
colours. All AL 50 powder coating is thermostatically
applied and then heat cured.
The
special Anti-microbial coating which
is available for the hygienic handrail, is effective against the
spread of MRSA and E-coil and lasts for the life of the coating
itself.
